“I WANNA MAKE YOU UNDERSTAND, I’M TALKING ABOUT A LIFETIME PLAN…”
Little River Band, Reminiscing 1978 *
One of the smoothest, best produced songs to come out of the 1970’s, Frank Sinatra himself is reported to have said that Reminiscing is the best song of the 1970’s. It sticks in your head like crazy glue and won’t leave you alone until you hear it again.
So what’s the connection with dentistry? I want to talk with you about a lifetime plan for your dental health. We will always have your best best interests at heart? Most important, has your dentist ever spoken to you about how to keep yourself healthy for a lifetime?
It doesn’t matter if you have all 32 teeth or none at all, your ability to eat a wide variety of foods is important to your overall health. Your ability to speak clearly is dependent on having teeth that provide correct airflow and tongue position. Last but not least, an attractive and natural-looking smile can go a long way toward helping with self-esteem, finding a job, being attractive to others, and more.
It all begins with an initial interview with your prospective dentist. My recommendation is that you find a dental home that offers an unconventional approach to customer service. By that I mean that the office creates a welcoming atmosphere of caring and kindness. The office should be staffed with people that are obviously a team, not just a collection of employees who happen to be working at the same place for eight hours a day. And that team should give the impression that they care about each other and about YOU.
I’ll admit that there have been many remarkable advances in the medical and dental industries in the past two decades. Yet I’m the first to point out that we are in the people business, and human nature is very predictable. We all have similar needs and desires. The dental office that makes its reputation on having the most modern high-tech equipment still has to know how to deliver the goods. By that I mean this: none of the ultra-expensive equipment available today is a substitute for good old-fashioned know-how. And that really begins with customer service and experience.
In our office, we make every attempt to meet the patient where they are, and to bring them to a place where they can get what they need. A treatment plan is much more than a “laundry list” of services. A treatment plan takes into account the wants of the patient, and provides a look into the future. We do our best to offer services that are preventive in nature, and if it comes to reconstruction or restorative dentistry, we do our best to provide long-lasting and low maintenance dentistry that saves tooth structure and preserves the important foundation, the gums and bone. It’s a lifetime plan!
So, “HURRY DON’T BE LATE, I CAN HARDLY WAIT…” * (to meet you, that is!)
